Jinya of Wintertempest and Mystery

Part One- The Nameless Armor

Jinya heard the sound of footsteps echoing down the stairs. She lifted her head from her work to see who it was. Kayura strolled into the room, almost negligently.
"Yes, Kayura?" Jinya asked, not appreciating the interruption.
"I just want to know what you're doing down here, Jinya. You stay in this dark place all day and almost never come out. What's happened to you?" Kayura questioned. Though her transformation into a relatively good person had changed her, it hadn't removed her attitude and that was very evident in her voice.
"You REALLY want to know?" Jinya wanted to be sure before she showed Kayura anything. She was thoughtful of her inventions.
"Yes, Jinya."
Jinya rose from her planning desk then walked over to a shelf full of rolled up papers. After looking through a few of them, she selected one nearly as tall as her and unrolled it for Kayura. It was her final and most complete drawing of the armor. She had decided to give it ice powers a long time ago, in order to counteract Ryo's fire powers, but that time had long passed. "This," she said simply as she gestured toward the drawing.
Kayura examined it. "An armor?" she questioned, "Why have you been designing armor?" She sounded a little peeved. Just a little.
Uh oh. "Well, at first I designed it because I wanted to fight against the Ronin Warriors someday. Then when we crossed over I just kept at it just in case Talpa decided to come back or something." That wasn't nearly all of it though.
"And you just thought you could go out and fight in some silly costume?"
"Kayura! You know me better than that!" then she looked around to see if anyone else was near, "Don't tell anyone, but about 4 years ago, when Sekhmet wasn't looking, I swiped his armor. I studied it, more out of pure fascination than anything, then I decided to make my own armor. I didn't have much else to do anyway."
Kayura sighed. "Shows me for not keeping a kid busy. And the Dynasty is such a bad place for anyone to grow up in. Very well. Show me this armor then."
Jinya shrugged almost happily then went back to her planning desk and retrieved a sphere the size of a large marble. "This is all I can show you, now that is. The armor's contained within right now and I can't get it back out until I do a few more things."
Kayura seemed intrigued. "Like what?"
"First off, I need a virtue."
Kayura glared. "You? Virtue? The words don't click too well."
Jinya giggled. She hadn't been the easiest person to be around in all her 16 years. "I still need one."
Kayura closed her eyes and thought. Something strangely came before her. It was Anubis. He spoke to her in a vision. "Kayura, Jinya is not one to be let to stray. She strong, for she was destined to be. Tell her pride, pride, Kayura. Toku." Then he was gone.
Kayura was a little wild about the eyes when she returned to reality. "How about pride? Um Toku. That would suit you."
"Toku? Tao Toku...sounds good! Thanks Kayura!" Jinya smiled.
"You're welcome. Didn't you say you needed a few things?"
"Uh...Let me see if I can get it out. If not I know what to adjust."
Kayura didn't doubt that. Jinya had been quick to learn and had an impeccable memory. She smiled and waited to see her pupil's work.
Jinya relaxed herself. She closed her eyes willed her sub-armor, which she heard Kayura start over. She would admit it was a little flashy, shiny and new too. She had made the first layer a dulled silver color and the top a shiny blue. She calmed her thoughts again and uttered the words that would become all too familiar to her for the first time, "Armor of Wintertempest, Tao Toku!"
She had chosen the name Wintertempest when she had asked the Warlords for impressive sounding words that pertained to something being cold. She got answers like frigid, freeze, ice, snow, and other stupid things. She decided that her own ideas would be better and chose Wintertempest. It was fitting though. The weight of the cool metal was upon her and she reminded herself that she had to fix the helmet, it was poking her in the cheek. Jinya opened her eyes.
"Jinya! How long were you working on this?!"
Jinya looked down at her rather uncomplicated armor. "Err...4 years or so. Like I said. On and off though." She wore blue and silver all over. Leg and arm guards were blue and had three silver thin, curved, and blade-like spikes coming off of each of them. The main piece, which was a body suit of a strong and flexible material, was blue with two silver stripes going down from each shoulder. It cut off high on her thighs in the front, but in the back it stopped at the knee in a spiky fringe. Resting on her chest was a set of geometric wings that were joined by a sapphire. The helmet also had silver wings coming off it, one from each side, and a silver crescent on the forehead.
Kayura was done admiring and began to point out the faults. "What do you plan to harm with?"
Jinya removed her helmet and looked at the ground remorsefully. It was true. She didn't have a weapon. That would be harder. "I haven't got to that yet."
"That could be a problem..."

Stay tuned for part 2...

(Note: The armor was originally going to be called Icestorm, but thank goodness I found out that that was already widely used in the fan-fic world. Besides, Wintertempest sounds more intelligent.)
